Una visita alla Fondazione Folon

Folon, basta questo nome e l'immaginazione prende forma, diventa un uccello e poi un uomo che vola, diventa un libro e poi il mare. Il mondo di Folon sembra uscito dalla fantasia inesauribile di un bambino.  L'ingresso della Fondazione è un enorme libro che, aprendosi, si fa porta e ti invita a entrare nel surreale mondo di Jean-Michel Folon.

La Fondazione Folon si trova nella stupenda tenuta di Château de la Hulpe, a 20 minuti da Bruxelles e lo stesso Folon partecipò al design degli interni che ospitano più di 500 dei suoi lavori, tra acquarelli, incisioni, oggetti e sculture. Lo spazio espositivo dà modo di conoscere l'intensa attività dell'illustratore belga scomparso nel 2005, l'amicizia con Milton Glaser, l'incontro con Woody Allen, l'impegno a favore di Amnesty International e Greenpeace. Un posto magico che sembra davvero essere fuori dal mondo reale, immerso nel verde e nel silenzio dove a sussurrare sono solo i delicati colori di Folon, colori che per lui erano la vita. 

 

A visit to the Folon Foundation

 

Folon, just the name and the imagination takes shape, it becomes a bird and then a man flying, it becomes a book and then the sea. The world of Folon comes out of the inexhaustible imagination of a child. At the entrance of the Foundation, a huge book becomes a door that invites you into the surreal world of Jean-Michel Folon. The Folon Foundation  is located in the beautiful Farm of Château de la Hulpe, just 20 minutes from Brussels and the same Jean-Michel Folon designed the interior. Folon put more than 500 artworks, including watercolors, engravings, sculptures and objects. The exhibition space gives the opportunity to meet the intense productivity of the Belgian illustrator, his friendship with Milton Glaser and Woody Allen, the commitment on behalf of Amnesty International and Greenpeace. An enchanting place that seems to be out of the real world, in the middle of the countryside and surrounded by silence, where only the delicate colors of Folon whisper, colors which were part of his life.
